deviantwheel by ssilence deviantwheel by ssilence
Data visualization is a really fascinating topic. Just for fun I have made a graph which shows all connections between deviants on my watchlist. A line means that a deviant watches another one.

I love the result because it shows how complex the connection between a few people can be.

For collecting the informations which deviant watches another I used a small php script which collects the watchlists of deviants. The generation of the graph realized with the free script MooWheel.

An online version of the wheel you can found here. Moving with the mouse about a name highlites the connections of this deviant.

I've seen a similar yet less well-conceived project on Facebook about a year ago or so; also, it was not as well implemented as this is! :o

I think this is a going to be a blast to explore. It was fascinating to look at already. :)

I don't think it's really meaningful to include yourself in this visualisation. What you presumably want to know is how the people you are connected to are connected among themselves. Including yourself means that you add artificial complexity, because drawing the known connections makes it harder to see all ther other connections.

So the rather uninteresting fact that they are all connected to you drown out much of the pattern in the data, for instance it's very hard to tell from the static version that a lot of the points aren't connected to anyone but you.
