This makes me think of Ray Bradbury's novel "Something wicked this way comes".
The way you have framed the enticing glow of the Merry-Go-Round with the blurred vignetting of curtains(?) seems to suggest a mood of suspicion to me. The carnival seems like a wonderful place from a distance, with strange sights, sounds, and smells. But get closer, look behind the scenes, and you find litter, tired, worn-out faces, and sometimes unscrupulous carnies willing to cheat a person for a few extra dollars.
I think the sepia tones help to subvert what would normally be bright and colourful lights and reinforces the feeling that this carnival only 'pretends' to be fun.
Hello and Wow,This piece is beautiful. It has a fairytale feeling to it, yet the cars and streetlights bring a modernized balance. The shadow surrounding the scene brings a sense of mystery to the picture, but there might be just a bit too much of it. The lighting of the carousel is great, and the trees in background add to the mysterious effect. The clarity and shine of the ride and also the colors blend well. I believe a bit of cropping would be effective in bringing out the best in this. However, overall it is a wonderful work of art!
Wow! Just enough around the opening to keep it interesting and if those cars were not there i really would have believed that this was taken long long ago...Great work!
