This is a wonderful photograph!

The fact that you picked a black border was a very, very wise choice! I find that most artists I see on this site don't really use borders. The black definitely brings out and compliments the focal point very well- the purple forest.

The grey-blue background/sky makes the purple look great, and it matches the snowy ground nicely! And the slightly lighter colours of the clouds make the background just that bit more interesting- instead of just a plain single-coloured backdrop.

As you can tell, I can't really offer any real artistic or photographic critique... so all I could tell you is why I think it worked so well...
